Garage Tool Holder

How could i clean this? any ideas?!? ?

I made this steel coffe mug in metal shop at first i just made as a garage tool/pencil holder. but now i want to trim it up and make it smoother and easyer on the eyes but how can i clean the inside of this? a dremel a chemical or what??? and what about the bottom inside? im open for ideas here. the pictures are below

If your asking how to clean it, I would suggest using myratic acid, which can be purchased in most hardware stores. If you want to smooth it up, I would go with the above answerer’s suggestion.
